Obituary for Dianna Jean Rodgers Manes

Dianna Jean Rodgers Manes, 70, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, August 2, 2019, at Nella's Incorporated in Elkins.

Dianna was born Sunday, March 27, 1949, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Henry David “Hank” Rodgers and Betty Ann Rosencrance Rodgers. On October 14, 1967, in Riverdale, MD, she was married to Nicola “Nick” Manes who survives in Elkins. They had celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.

Also left to cherish Dianna’s memory are five children, Brian Manes and wife, Debbie, of Easton, MD, Paul Manes and wife, Katie, of Sharptown, MD, Jennifer Manes and wife, April, of Elkins, Rebekah Anderson and husband, Dave, of Huttonsville, and Sarah Manes of Mill Creek, two brothers, Michael “Mickey” Rodgers and wife, Sara, of Texas and Jeffrey Rodgers and wife, Joy, of Virginia, seventeen grandchildren, Damien, Lucas, Maggie, Darcy, Abigail, Kayla, Wesley, Jacob, Joseph, Ashley, Adriana, DJ, Katelyn, Zayne, Jocelyn, Anna, and Regan, one great grandchild, Jalynn, a daughter in law, Tanya Mehri, several nieces and nephews, and many “extras” that she took in as her own.

Dianna was preceded in death by one son, Nicola Antonio Manes.

Dianna was a graduate of Bladensburg High School in Maryland with the class of 1967. She and her husband, Nick, lived most of their lives and raised their children in Maryland before moving to West Virginia. Dianna was a homemaker, but she had worked as a caretaker. She was last employed as a classroom aid with WV Head Start, a job she greatly enjoyed getting to work with children. She was an avid reader and had a love for flowers. She enjoyed watching the deer and the hummingbirds, as well as her soap operas. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She had attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Maryland before moving to West Virginia.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 pm until 7 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 9, 2019, at 11 am. Pastor Frank Stanley will officiate and interment will follow in Bell-Kelley Cemetery near Huttonsville. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the wonderful care Dianna received from the staff at Nella’s Inc.
