Obituary for Charles "Stanley" McDonald

Charles “Stanley” McDonald, 69, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Monday, August 12, 2019, at home surrounded by family and friends and under the care of Mountain Hospice.

Stanley was born Tuesday, May 2, 1950, in Junior, a son of the late Thomas J. McDonald and Darlene McDonald. He married the former Marlene Yvonne Clemens who survives.

Also left to cherish his memory is one son, Chad McDonald and wife Stacia of Elkins, two grandchildren, Ben and Lakin McDonald of Elkins, one sister, Patty Tenney and husband Jim “Curly”, one brother, Tommy McDonald, two brothers in law, Wayne and Steve Clemens, three stepchildren, Dr. Tonya Denning of VA, Lisa Lambert and husband Loyd of Middle Mountain, and Albert Robey Jr. of Elkins, six step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashly Lambert, Cody Arbogast, Kyle, Lillian, and Leo Robey, best friend and fishing buddy, Jeff Jackson, and special friend, Junior Howell.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was one stepson, Leo.

Stanley proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years and had been employed as a coal miner for twenty-two years, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center for eleven years, and Nella’s Incorporated. He loved his two dogs, Max and Lucy. Stanley loved being outdoors hunting and fishing.

Stanley’s request for cremation was honored.
